Drive Launcher

Internet radio

Drive Launcher can play Sri Lankan radio stations over the internet, from the home screen of your car player. It is a free extra of the launcher: we don't sell radio, and there is no charge for it.

How it works

  • Straight from the station. Your car player plays each station's own official public internet stream, the same one the station plays on its own website, directly from the station's server.
  • We don't host, record or change anything. No radio audio passes through our servers. We don't record, store, re-broadcast, cut or add advertising to any station's programme.
  • Only official streams. Before a station is added we check that the stream is the station's own (the one its website uses, or a stream server that names the station) and test that it plays. Every stream is checked again each day.
  • Internet, not FM. Radio in Drive Launcher uses your car player's internet connection (Wi-Fi hotspot, dongle or data SIM). It uses about 30–60 MB of data an hour, depending on the station. To listen on FM without data, use your car player's own radio app.
  • Availability. Streams are run by the stations. A station may change or stop its stream at any time, so a station can be missing or stop playing for a while.

Station names and ownership

Station names, programmes and trademarks belong to their owners. Drive Launcher is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any radio station or broadcaster. We show station names only so you can find them, and we don't use station logos.

For radio stations

If you run a station and would like it removed, or would like us to change how it is shown or which stream we use, email [email protected]. We remove a station the same day we hear from you; car players stop showing it within 6 hours. We are also glad to hear from stations that would like to be included.
