How to install
It takes about five minutes. You need the Drive Launcher APK file and your licence key.
1. Get the app onto your car player
Download DriveLauncher.apk with your licence key (the link in your licence email fills it in for you), then copy it to the car player — with a USB stick, Google Drive, or the free LocalSend app over Wi-Fi. If your car player has a browser, you can also download it there directly.
No key yet? Buy a licence – the key is emailed to you straight away.
2. Install it
Open the APK on the car player. The first time, Android asks to allow installs from that app (Files, Drive or LocalSend): tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, go back and tap Install.
3. Make it your home screen
Press the Home button and choose Drive Launcher → Always. On some car players this is in Settings → Apps → Default apps → Home app.
4. Allow what it asks
Allow Location (for speed and weather). Tap the music card and turn on Drive Launcher – now playing for song titles, album art and the next-turn card.
5. Activate your licence
The launcher asks for your key when it opens. If you closed that, tap the home icon (top left) → Licence. Type your key (like DL-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and tap Activate. It needs internet once — your phone's hotspot is fine.
6. Headlights (optional)
Usually nothing to do: the car on screen lights up with your headlights by itself once Drive Launcher has seen them go on and off. If it doesn't, tap the home icon → Headlight detection and follow the two steps.
7. Pick your car
Press and hold the car on the home screen to choose your model (Honda Vezel, Suzuki WagonR, Micro Panda, Micro Panda Cross, Suzuki Spacia or Toyota Prius) and colour. The car you chose when buying is set for you when you activate.
That's it. See the user guide for everything else – the dock, music, speed alert, themes and more.
